Tie-Breaking Rules Within the Same Hand Type

Special Rule: In sequences, Ace can be used as both the highest card (A-K-Q) and as the lowest card to form A-2-3 sequence. However, K-A-2 is NOT a valid sequence.

Pre-Round Rules — The Boot (Ante)

Before any cards are dealt, every player must place the mandatory "boot" bet (also called ante or blinds in some versions) into the central pot. The boot amount is determined by the table limit you select when joining. Players cannot join mid-round — you must wait for the next round to start if you join a table after dealing has begun.

Dealing Rules

After all boots are placed, the dealer (automated by the game) distributes 3 cards face-down to each player, dealing one card at a time clockwise. All cards are private — you cannot show your cards to other players except during a show or sideshow. Once cards are dealt, the betting round begins starting from the player to the dealer's left.

Betting Rules

Blind Players (Chaal without seeing cards)

Seen Players (Chaal after seeing cards)

Stakes Progression

The stake (minimum bet amount) can increase as the round progresses when players raise. When a player raises, the new raised amount becomes the minimum for the next player. Stakes continue to increase until most players fold or a showdown occurs.

Sideshow Rules

A sideshow (also called "back show") is a private comparison between two seen players:

Show Rules (Showdown)

A show can only occur when exactly two players remain in the round:

Winning the Round

A round ends in one of two ways:

  1. All opponents fold: The last remaining player wins the entire pot without showing cards
  2. Showdown: After a show request, the player with the better hand wins the pot

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, a blind player can win by forcing all opponents to fold without ever looking at their own cards. This is one of the most exciting aspects of Teen Patti Blue — you can win purely through psychological pressure and betting strategy without even knowing what hand you hold.
Teen Patti Blue requires a minimum of 3 players to start a round. In the app, tables typically fill automatically from the player pool. You can also create private tables and invite specific friends to join your game, with 3 players being the minimum required to start.
Yes, A-2-3 is a valid sequence in Teen Patti Blue. The Ace can act as either the highest card (in A-K-Q sequence) or the lowest card (in A-2-3 sequence). However, K-A-2 crossing the Ace boundary is not a valid sequence. Among sequences, A-2-3 ranks below A-K-Q, K-Q-J, Q-J-10, and all other higher sequences.
Yes, you can choose to "see" your cards at any point during the round. Once you look at your cards, you permanently become a seen player for that round and must bet at the seen player rate (double the blind rate) for all subsequent turns. You cannot go back to blind status after viewing your cards.
The game cannot end with everyone folding since at least one player must remain. As players fold one by one, the last remaining player automatically wins the pot — regardless of what cards they were holding. This is why the ability to force opponents to fold through blind play and aggressive betting is so powerful in Teen Patti Blue.
